My name is Aleah Adams and this is my online portfolio for
my journalism class. I’m almost complete with my sophomore year at School of
The Arts in Upstate, New York, and one of my most time-consuming classes was
Creative Journalism. This year we studied writing articles, photojournalism,
video editing, making podcasts and documentaries. We learned how to become
better equipped with the program IMovie and also learned about
photojournalists. But writing is not my only hobby. I also have played piano
since I was eight years old and I’ve been cheering for the past two years.
Cheer is my most favorite thing to do, and next year I will be the captain of
my school squad. Cheer has instilled in me leadership qualities, has taught me
to depend on other people and has built my confidence greatly. Other qualities
I possess are that I’m reliable, honest and trustworthy.
I am the
way I am because of my parents and the way they raised me. As the youngest of
my family I feel that I might’ve gotten the most attention out of all five kids
and the “easy way out”, but my parents raised all of us amazingly. I have a
great bond with each of my siblings and each of my parents as well. They value
school highly and that’s why I take it so seriously. They saw my potential in
writing so they wanted to give me the best opportunity possible, and that’s how
I landed in School of The Arts.
I’m very
proud of the work I’ve produced this school year because I love editing videos
and some of the outcomes were amazing. I get to look back at them whenever I
want and all of the hard work I put into them shows. I hope you enjoy my sophomore
final year portfolio and see a part of me through my creations.
